We try to do something summery and fun EVERY day, but today we have three for you! All of them are quite thrifty which is nice since it seems that we have spent quite a bit of money this summer already! The boy loves to paint, and manages to get it everywhere. He especially loves handprint and fingerprint art. So I was thinking, I’ve been meaning to cutoff these jeans anyway… why don’t you just make them a bit fancy for me, little man? And he did.
I gave him some fabric paint after we were already quite messy from the watercolor painting.
We also take an evening walk almost daily, on the way to parks, to pick flowers, or to burn off ice cream. Sometimes all of them at once! We found all of these blooms on our walk and I added a little rosemary from our own yard.
It’s just a vintage drinking glass vase and weeds, but what a pretty reminder of our summer evenings and it was free. Pretty & thrifty. (trumpet vine, sunflower, boxwood, rosemary)
And remember the ice cream we needed to burn off? Well, it was a banana shake with Oreo that I made for all of us. It’s easier than taking a trip to get shakes and I can throw in some kind of fruit to each dessert we make at home!
Vanilla ice cream, 1/2 banana per serving, crushed Oreo to blend and garnish. Not fancy, but pretty great anyway!
Your turn, what summer fun were you up to today?
