elf-ing a room in paper snowflakes and winter pinecones

snowflakes_hanging_in_kids_roomPerhaps I watched too many holiday movies with lovely snowflake inspiration but in the recent bad weather I decided to decorate the kids’ room for winter. It’s the perfect time to do so because taking down all of the Christmas decor is always a little sad for them. Our boys share a room that’s usually a mix of beachy themed decor but I changed quite a bit to white to convince them it snowed in there. The youngest yellows “Snow!” every time he walks in. Love it. Next year I hope they help me decorate with a few of their own snowflakes and that we’ve started a winter tradition. I handcut each of these flakes with scissors and used both cardstock paper and regular paper. To make them nice and flat I ironed them a bit. I think snowflake cookies would taste divine while reading in here, don’t you?

Usually the mobile has sea life saltdough ornaments, but we needed pinecones for winter.
